The three services are unbundled. Customers can engage Customized without engaging Design, or Design without Customized, or Consulting as a stand-alone engagement. No service is conditional on placing a supply order, and our application-engineer recommendation is the same whether or not a supply order follows. The fixed fees for Design and Consulting are quoted in advance and are credited against any subsequent commercial supply order above 5 m³ — so the customer is not paying twice for the engineering work. We decline engagements where we cannot add technical value — for example, a customer's specification may be better served by a different insulation technology (calcium silicate, ceramic-fibre blanket, aerogel blanket), and we will say so at the quoting stage rather than winning the order on a technical mismatch.

Three core engineering services run alongside our insulation supply: Customized (custom-formed microporous insulation parts produced to your drawing or sample), Design (engineering design assistance for new furnace, ladle, kiln, or reformer backup insulation layouts), and Consulting (thermal-survey interpretation, lifecycle-cost analysis, and energy-efficiency retrofits for existing high-temperature equipment). The three services are bundled or unbundled depending on the project. A typical new-build steel-mill ladle project uses Design + Customized + Supply. A retrofit on an existing petrochemical reformer typically uses Consulting + Supply, sometimes with Design if the geometry requires new layouts. We do not provide refractory installation labour — we supply insulation specification and supervision, and the customer’s refractory contractor handles installation.
A Design engagement starts with the customer’s process data — operating temperature, shell-temperature target, host equipment geometry, and any existing installation constraints — and ends with a 2D layout drawing plus a one-page thermal-conductivity calculation worksheet showing the recommended board grade, board thickness, layer count, and joint-staggering pattern. Standard Design engagements on a single piece of equipment (one furnace, one ladle, one kiln) typically take 5–10 working days from receipt of input data to delivery of the package and are quoted at a fixed fee that is fully credited against the first commercial supply order above 5 m³. Multi-equipment or new-product-line design engagements (typically above 50 m³ total volume) are quoted per project with a quoted fixed fee or hourly rate at the customer’s election.
Customized parts are produced by CNC cutting, jig forming, or mould pressing depending on the geometry. The customer provides a 2D drawing (DWG, DXF, or STEP file) or a physical sample. Our engineering team confirms the part is manufacturable to ±1 mm tolerance and produces a small sample for customer approval before production run. For complex 3D geometries (pump housings, turbine casings, valve bonnets, OEM enclosures), we typically produce a 3D-printed prototype or a single-piece trial production run before the customer commits to the full order. MOQ for Customized parts is 1 m³; small-batch set-up cost is included in the quotation and removed once the order exceeds 5 m³. Lead time for Customized parts is typically 15–25 working days from drawing approval to ex-works dispatch.
Consulting engagements are for engineering teams who need a second opinion or who want a structured analysis of an existing installation. Typical Consulting scopes include: thermal-survey data interpretation (a customer sends us shell-temperature readings and we model what they imply about backup insulation performance), lifecycle-cost analysis (compare microporous board versus ceramic-fibre blanket versus calcium silicate on a 10-year cost-of-ownership basis for a specific service), energy-efficiency retrofit specification (a customer wants to reduce heat loss on an existing furnace and we model what backup-insulation upgrade would achieve), and supplier-qualification documentation (a procurement team wants third-party verification of our capabilities, often as part of an approved-vendor-list onboarding). Consulting work is quoted per project, typically with a 3-week engagement timeline.
Yes — most of our overseas projects run on this model. The customer (or their EPC contractor) installs Anchor-tech microporous insulation with their own refractory crew; we supply the technical specification, the layer-by-layer installation drawings, the joint-staggering details, and the on-site supervision if the project warrants it. This integration model keeps the customer in control of the installation schedule and labour sourcing, while ensuring the backup-insulation design and quality are anchored by the manufacturer. For larger projects (typically above 10 m³) we can also nominate a regional refractory contractor with prior experience on our products; speak to your sales contact for the current list of qualified installers in your geography.
The standard matrix covers: standard board at 1000 × 1200 mm with thicknesses 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50 mm; laminated grades with PE film, aluminium foil, or glass-fibre fabric facings; arc panels at DN 50 to DN 1200; powder grade at bulk density 180–250 kg/m³; VIP at sizes 200 × 200 mm to 1200 × 800 mm. Specifications outside this matrix — high-density board above 280 kg/m³ for structural use, very-thin panels below 10 mm for tight-envelope retrofits, custom opacifier loading for service above 1000 °C, formed 3D parts with tolerance tighter than ±1 mm — are reviewed by our technical team on a case-by-case basis. Lab trials typically take 2–4 weeks and production trials another 2–4 weeks, so the lead time for out-of-matrix specifications is typically 6–10 weeks. We are candid about which specifications are not feasible — typically anything requiring higher continuous service temperature than 1100 °C or thinner panels than 6 mm falls outside the production capability and we will redirect the customer to an alternative technology.
