The customization capability listed on this page reflects what our pressing and forming equipment can actually produce, not what we would like to offer. The Guangzhou facility has three pressing lines — a small 800-ton press for thin panels and prototypes, a mid-size 1500-ton press for standard matrix, and a large 2500-ton press for thick panels and formed parts — plus a CNC cutting cell for secondary operations and a forming-mould workshop with five CNC machining centres for mould fabrication. Production capability: panel sizes up to 1200 × 1500 mm, thicknesses from 6 mm to 60 mm, densities from 180 to 350 kg/m³, formed-arc radii from 80 mm to 2000 mm. Outside these envelopes we will tell you at the drawing-review stage that the project is outside our capability rather than accepting an order we cannot fulfil. The customization process on this page is the workflow we have refined across more than 400 custom projects since 2014 — ranging from 2-piece prototype orders for R&D labs to 200 m³ multi-shipment orders for petrochemical vessel builders. The five-step process (inquiry, drawing review, prototype, production, delivery) looks bureaucratic; the reason it is structured is that skipping steps always costs more time in the end than following them. The most common custom-project failures we have seen come from customers who skip the drawing review ("we'll just send the drawing with the PO") or skip the prototype step ("just run the production lot, we'll inspect at delivery"). When those steps are skipped, the result is typically a production lot that does not match the installation interface, requiring remanufacture and costing the project weeks. Following the process adds 5–10 days to the timeline and saves 4–12 weeks of rework risk.

Custom orders are non-cancellable once the production run begins. The reason is that custom-pressed or custom-formed material cannot be sold to another customer — the geometry, size, or density is specific to your project. This is why the process above includes a counter-signed drawing approval and a prototype step before production: the approval transfers the design responsibility to the customer and the prototype confirms that the geometry is right. We do not accept returns on custom material; we will replace material that fails our pre-shipment inspection at our cost, but we cannot recover the project schedule loss from a cancelled order. For projects with critical schedule constraints, we offer a "prototype-and-hold" arrangement where the customer pays for the prototype and we hold it in our warehouse for up to 90 days while the customer decides whether to proceed — this protects the schedule without committing to the full production run. All commercial terms for custom orders are documented in the quotation letter; we do not modify terms after quotation acceptance.

Six parameters are customizable within our production capability. First, panel size — standard matrix is 1000 × 1200 mm; custom sizes from 200 × 200 mm up to 1200 × 1500 mm can be pressed on request. Second, thickness — standard matrix is 10/15/20/25/30/40/50 mm; custom thicknesses from 6 mm to 60 mm can be pressed, with tolerances quoted per thickness band. Third, density — standard matrix is 220 / 250 / 280 kg/m³; custom density from 180 kg/m³ (lightweight) to 350 kg/m³ (high-strength) can be pressed, with corresponding changes in thermal conductivity and compressive strength. Fourth, facing — beyond the standard PE film / aluminium foil / glass-fibre fabric options, custom facings include ceramic-fibre cloth, mica sheet, and stainless-steel mesh for specific applications. Fifth, formed geometry — pre-formed arcs (cylindrical sections for pipes and vessels), formed 3D parts (customer-supplied geometry), and CNC-cut shapes from stock panels. Sixth, packaging — custom pallet sizes, custom carton labelling, and custom container stuffing plans for project shipments.
Custom-pressed products (custom size, custom thickness, custom density outside the standard matrix) require a minimum order of 10 m³ or USD 8,000 ex-works order value, whichever is greater. Custom-formed products (pre-formed arcs, formed 3D parts) require a minimum order that depends on the geometry — typically 5 m³ for simple arcs (single radius) and 10 m³ for complex 3D parts. Custom-cut products (CNC cutting from stock panels) have a lower MOQ — typically 2 m³ or USD 2,000 — because no tooling change is required, just a cutting programme. Below these MOQs, we can accept prototype or sample orders at a per-piece tooling-amortised price; the per-piece price is typically 2–3× the commercial-order unit price. We do not accept custom orders for material that falls outside our production capability (continuous service above 1100 °C, submerged liquid service, panel thickness below 6 mm or above 60 mm).
We accept 2D drawings in DWG, DXF, and PDF; 3D models in STEP (AP214 or AP203), IGES, and Parasolid X-T; and PDF drawings with explicit dimension callouts as a fallback. Each submission should include: overall dimensions with tolerances, surface finish or texture requirement, edge treatment, hole / cutout locations, and any installation interface (mating flange, fastener pattern, sealing groove). For formed 3D parts, the 3D model is required — 2D drawings of 3D geometry typically lack the information needed to programme the mould. For pre-formed arcs, a 2D cross-section drawing with the inner radius, outer radius, arc angle, and segment length is usually sufficient. Drawings are reviewed by the application engineering team within 48 working hours; we issue a written drawing review with comments or a counter-signed drawing approval for manufacture within 5 working days of confirmation.
Custom-pressed products (custom size / thickness / density) typically take 15–25 working days from approved drawing to ex-works dispatch. Custom-formed products (pre-formed arcs, formed 3D parts) typically take 25–40 working days because of mould fabrication, prototype pressing, sample approval, and production run. Custom-cut products (CNC cutting from stock panels) typically take 5–10 working days. These lead times are quoted ex-works Guangzhou; add 3–5 weeks for sea freight to European or North American destinations, 1–2 weeks for air freight, or 3–5 days for express courier on small emergency quantities. Lead times include raw-material procurement, pressing / forming, quality verification, packing, and pre-shipment inspection. We can expedite the production side for an additional expedite fee (typically 20–30% premium), but the bottleneck is usually raw-material procurement and mould fabrication, not pressing capacity.
Standard tolerances on custom-pressed panels are: length and width ±2 mm for panels up to 1000 mm and ±3 mm for panels above 1000 mm; thickness ±1 mm for thicknesses up to 25 mm and ±1.5 mm for thicknesses above 25 mm; density ±10% of nominal value (e.g. 280 ± 28 kg/m³); perpendicularity 1 mm per 100 mm of edge length. Tighter tolerances (length / width ±0.5 mm, thickness ±0.5 mm) can be held on CNC-finished panels, with an additional per-piece machining cost and a 5–10 working day lead-time extension. For formed 3D parts, the dimensional tolerance depends on the geometry — typically ±2 mm on small features and ±5 mm on large features; we provide a tolerance review as part of the drawing review and confirm what is achievable before manufacture. If the application requires tighter tolerances than we can hold, we recommend a different base geometry or a post-machining step in the customer’s process.
Yes — prototype sampling is the standard workflow for all custom-formed products. The process is: (1) customer submits drawing, (2) we issue drawing review and counter-signed approval, (3) we produce 2–5 prototype pieces (typically 5–10 working days for simple arcs, 15–25 working days for complex 3D parts), (4) customer inspects prototypes and either approves or requests changes, (5) on approval we proceed to the production run. Prototype fees depend on the geometry — typically USD 200–500 per prototype piece including mould amortisation; prototype fees are fully credited against the commercial order above 10 m³. For custom-pressed products (custom size / thickness / density), the prototype step is usually skipped because the production run itself is the verification — the first 5–10 panels of the production run are inspected against the drawing before the rest of the run continues.
