Nano microporous insulation boards for high-temperature industrial applications

Microtherm® is one of the established names in microporous insulation, and if you currently specify it you already know what the material class can do. Buyers usually start looking for an alternative supplier for three reasons: cost pressure on a qualified specification, lead time and logistics, or simply the purchasing policy of dual-sourcing a critical insulation material. This page explains what Anchor-tech offers as an alternative source, on the basis of our own published data only. Microtherm® is a trademark of its respective owner; Anchor-tech is not affiliated with or endorsed by that company, and we make no representation about their products here.

Our Product Data, on the Record

Our standard nano insulation board is a rigid microporous panel based on nanometer-scale silica (SiO₂), zirconium silicate (ZrSiO₄) and silicon carbide (SiC) particles. Published figures: thermal conductivity 0.020 W/m·K at 25 °C — below that of still air — rising to 0.0280 W/m·K at an average temperature of 500 °C; density 220–280 kg/m³; rated for continuous service to 1000 °C. The same microporous core is available as a flexible panel for pipes and curved equipment, as PE, aluminum-foil, or glass-cloth faced boards, as machined custom shapes, and as the core of our vacuum insulated panels at 0.004 W/m·K centre-of-panel conductivity.

How to Evaluate Us as a Second Source

The reliable way to qualify an alternative microporous supplier is to test, not to read brochures. We support that process: we send sample boards for your own thermal and mechanical verification, provide our technical data sheet and test reports on request, and can cut samples to the exact dimensions of your current specification so the comparison is like-for-like. If your application is a steel ladle, RH degasser, tundish, or furnace backup layer, our application engineers can also review the lining design and confirm the correct grade and thickness before you commit.

Next Step

Request samples and our documentation pack — tell us the product you currently use, the dimensions, and the duty conditions, and we will respond with the matching Anchor-tech grade, its data sheet, and a quotation for a trial order.
